Our Data Centres
Our data centres provide a full 24/7 hosting environment for operating and managing our customers servers.
They include:
- A computer-controlled temperature and humidity environment with fire and power circuit monitoring linked externally.
- Key technical and operations staff provide 24/7 cover in an emergency.
- Centres are equipped with an inert gas discharge system, which if activated will extinguish a fire within a matter of seconds, and windows are blast resistant.
- All critical hardware within the machine room is run from a clean earth power supply, which is supported by a diesel generator (with 3 months fuel) and UPS battery system.
- The centres have full BACS Bureau status, and this ensures that security reaches the standard acceptable to BACS inspectors.
- Physical security within the data centres are controlled by a key card swipe system and administered by 24/7 security personnel in the building.
- The sites are monitored by CCTV. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and images are continuously recorded.
- A number of communication line carriers have a presence in our hosting centres. These include BT, MCI/Verizon, Cable & Wireless and NTL Telewest. NTL/Telewest and C&W present their respective services over dual/diverse lines utilising different POPs and entering the building at different locations.
- Our data centres have leak detection systems that alerts the trend system of any water leaks.
- Critical building services are monitored and maintained by a comprehensive Building Management system (BMS) incorporating Trend 963 software.
